God's Answers to Satan's Lies
"When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar,
and the father thereof." (John 8:44)
"The devil that deceived them." (Revelation 20:10)

1. "I am not very bad."

(1) Your heart is sinful.
"For from within, out of the heart of men, evil thoughts proceed, fornications,
thefts, murders, adulteries, covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness,
an evil eye, railing, pride, foolishness: all these evil things proceed
from within, and defile the man." (Mark 7:21-23)
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt;
who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)

(2) You have failed to do good.
"To him therefore that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."
(James 4:17)

(3) You have fallen short of perfection.
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point,
he is become guilty of all." (James 2:10)
"There is none righteous, no not one."
"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:10, 23)

(4) You have resisted the Holy Spirit.
"Ye do always resist the Holy Spirit, as your fathers did, so do ye." (Acts 7:51)
"And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin,
and of righteousness, and of judgment." (John 16:8)

(5) You have broken the great commandment.
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind. This is the great and first commandment."
(Matthew 22:37, 38)

(6) You have broken the next commandment.
"And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
"On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets."
(Matthew 22:39)

(7) You are serving the devil.
"Know ye not, that to whom ye present yourselves as servants unto obedience,
his servants ye are whom ye obey." (Romans 6:16)
"Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Every one that committeth sin is the bondservant of sin." (John 8:34)

(8) Your life is against Jesus.
"He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth."
(Matthew 12:30)

(9) Your unbelief makes God a liar.
"He that believeth not God hath made him a liar;
because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son.
And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life."
(1 John 5:10, 12)

(10) You are trampling Jesus under your feet.
"A man that hath set at nought Moses' law dieth without compassion on the word
of two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, think ye, shall he be
judged worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted
the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing,
and hath done despite unto the spirit of grace?" (Hebrew 10: 28, 29)
